To find out more about this Training, please contact Jessica Sokolove at jessicas@yogaworks.com or call 310 664-6470 ext. 125

On a personal note, this is the same training that I took with Maty Ezraty and Lisa Walford. It remains one of the highlights of my life, a truly illuminating experience made even better because of the subject, allowing and encouraging Self-study. I recommend this Training without hesitation and feel it’s the best available.

Foundations and Fundamentals to set your practice free!

In this workshop we will look at the most fundamental part of any asana; the part we connect to the Earth with. We are all aware that the steadiest of structures owe their stability to their base. For instance, who ever heard of a mountain that was wider at the summit? Throughout our lives we tend toward movement, what is the next step, where is the next stimulation coming from, when will we "arrive"? Experience teaches us that with greater control comes greater freedom. In Yogic terms we could say that abhyasa (practice) with vairagyabhyam (non- attachment) results in moksha (liberation). Using the most commonly practiced poses, from Sun Salutations to Warrior 2 to inversions and twists as well as backbends and seated poses, we will study the role that fundamentals and foundation play; how they help us gain greater control and thus lead to freedom. We will look at specific actions we can take to gain greater sthira (steadiness) and sukkham (comfort) first in our poses, then in our minds. This workshop will be a great opportunity to learn the basics or to remind yourself of the cornerstone principles of practice and also to take your asana practice to a new level.
